ISRO Offers Free Five-Day Online Course on AI and Machine Learning

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is set to launch a free five-day online course on the fundamentals of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) from August 19 to 23, 2024. This initiative, part of the IIRS outreach program, aims to foster innovation in the space sector and beyond.

The course will be delivered through the IIRS-ISRO e-class platform and is open to professionals, students, and researchers in fields such as computer science, geoinformatics, and civil engineering. Participants who maintain at least 70% attendance will receive a “Course Participation Certificate.”

The comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including:

  1. Overview of AI/ML and Deep Learning
  2. Supervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement Learning Techniques
  3. Applications of CNN, RNN, R-CNN, Faster RCNN, SSD, YOLO, and other Deep Learning concepts
  4. Lidar Systems in Space
  5. Machine Learning using Google Earth Engine
  6. Python for Deep Learning/Machine Learning Models

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with automatic approval for individual registrations. Participants can also register through nodal centers with coordinator approval. Interested individuals can apply online at https://elearning.iirs.gov.in/edusatregistration/.
