Elon Musk says AI will make paid work redundant

In a tete-a-tete with British Prime Minsiter Rishi Sunak, tech billionaire Elon Musk said, “I think we are seeing the most disruptive force in history here. We will have something for the first time that is smarter than the smartest human. There will come a point where no job is needed. You can have a job if you want to have a job for personal satisfaction, but the AI will be able to do everything.”

Musk predicted that human labor would become obsolete. He further added, “If you wish for a magic genie, that gives you any wish you want, and there’s no limit. You don’t have those three wish limits nonsense, it’s both good and bad. One of the challenges in the future will be how do we find meaning in life.”

He told the gathering, “the technology would “be a force for good” and AIs could actually become “great friends” to their users, especially to people such as his son who struggled to make friends in the real world.”

Musk has announced that his artificial intelligence company xAI is all set to release its own AI programme tomorrow, Saturday, but in a limited capacity.
